"Commedia 101" with Faction of Fools

Do you want to try your hand at classical Italian theatre?  DC's own commedia dell'arte troupe, Faction of Fools, will host a training session on Sunday, March 24th from 10am-4pm.  This session is open to actors and students of all experience levels, and will introduce the art of commedia.

Via Umbria Celebrates Italian Women of the Renaissance

In celebration of Women's History Month, the National Organization of Italian American Women will host a presentation and dinner at Georgetown's Via Umbria restaurant on March 13th.  The event will acknowledge women who inspired some of the world's greatest artist: the muses of Raphael, Michelangelo, and Botticelli.

Tintoretto Exhibition Comes to the National Gallery!

March 24th through June 9th, the National Gallery of Art will celebrate the 500th birthday of Venetian artist Jacopo Tintoretto with three exhibitions.  Tintoretto:  Artist of Renaissance Venice, Drawing in Tintoretto's Venice, and Venetian Prints in the time of Tintoretto will explore his influences and honor other Venetian printmakers of the 16th century.  The exhibitions will showcase more than 100 paintings and prints from Venetian artists.
